Winsford station and Pendolino 390127 heads South.
Class 40, 40013 "ANDANIA" taking The Welsh Marches Whistler from Lancaster to Crewe
where traction would be exchanged for steam.
The signal just beyond the station was still at single amber but changed to green as the train approached the road bridge with the result that the 40 opened up, you could "feel" the power as it accelerated. Marvellous and well worth getting up early to see and hear. Now it's off to Nantwich to catch the double-header!
NANTWICH JUNE 3rd 2021
Marches Whistler part II with 45231 "Sherwood Forester" leading 46100 "Royal Scot" as they leaned into the curve out of Nantwich.

46100 "Royal Scot" - wonderful and in green as well.
I hadn't expected the 40 to be attached to the rear, a pleasant surprise.
