Down in the shed yard there was a comprehensive collection of diesels on display.
Class N2, 0-6-2T No.1744 of GNR heritage.
The shed and workshops were open for visitors and, although it meant crossing the line to gain access, this was not an oppressive regime and people wandered through at will - congratulations to the GCR for treating visitors as adults. Obviously when there was any movement the gates were controlled. How refreshing.
46521 was on the move.
"Jinty" 47406 appeared.
Moving into the workshops where a vast array of locomotives and equipment was on display.
Just inside the doors was ex GCR/LNER 2-8-0 No.63601.
