Part 2

 Crewe Diesel Depot with 37503(L) and then 37707, 56038 and 66030. 8/12/2002

Sunday is currently "drag" day with trains to and from Liverpool and Preston being diverted along non electrified lines. This means that the train, including the electric locomotive, has to be dragged by, in this case, class 47 diesels. For more, click on the picture. 8/12/2002

Crewe Diesel Depot yard and this colourful array was present and dead. 37421(L), 47847 "Railway World Magazine" and 47759. 3/12/2002

Royal Class 47 number 47798 "Prince William" was on menial duties as it pushed(!) one fuel tanker from the Diesel Depot to Basford sidings. 3/12/2002

56088 pulled 66210 through the station and then entered the depot yard from the South. It deposited the 66 on the pumps and then ran off along the Manchester line. 3/12/2002

The morning Holyhead-London left on time with 43067 leading 43102. 3/12/2002

Quite often a Freightliner Class 66 uses either bay platforms 7 or 8 to transfer between Basford Sidings and the LNWR depot. Today it was the turn of 66557. 3/12/2002

Two class 56's in one day as 56091 ran through the station with the Sandbach acid train. 3/12/2002

37520 has appeared on the Diesel Depot scrap line - the open bonnet is not a good sign. 3/12/2002

DVT's appear in platform 5 with almost boring regularity and I assumed that there would be a class 87 or 90 pushing. I was wrong it was an increasingly rare 86 so, because the camera was not ready, only a somewhat fuzzy telephoto shot of 86247 "Abraham Darby" was had. 3/12/2002
