The 9.21 Holyhead-London HST service arrived with 43158 "Dartmoor The Pony Express" in charge. The leading power car was seemingly short on coolant and the "HST Coolant Trolley" was assembled to replenish the radiators. Interestingly, the coolant transfer pump was powered by the locomotive's electrical supply.
While this procedure was being carried out the engine was switched off, presumably to stop any pumping activity, and was then restarted with much clag.
Eventually the train left for
London with 43197 "Railway Magazine" bringing
up the rear. 12/11/2002
