The 10.45 for Holyhead was diverted into platform 12 and 47810 "Porterbrook" was parked on the headshunt adjacent to the West Coast Mail Line - what was going on? Normally an HST run, today's 08.44 from London Euston was loco hauled behind 87004 "Britannia" seen here running off the train.
21/8/2002

Sure enough 810 reversed onto the train and gave a rousing display as it headed for Chester and North Wales.

Crewe was quite dead this P.M. with no coastal traffic unless you like buses. 47292, fresh from it's charter run last weekend, was in tow behind 47279. The pair went to the LNWR sheds.
13/8/2002

Crewe Diesel Depot was full of RES 47's, these two are 47635 and 47772.
