CREWE - CHESTER - BANGOR - HOLYHEAD APRIL 2002 - PART TWO |
|
|
|

It ran through the station and
on towards the virtual quarry. 18/4/2002

The "up" Royal Scot
stops at Crewe en route from Glasgow to London Euston but the
down train passes North at around 80 mph - I wonder why? Today
the usual class 87 or 90 was missing and class 86 number 86226
"Charles Rennie Mackintosh" was in charge
at the rear. 18/4/2002

47782 appeared to have been dumped
near to the diesel depot headshunt. 18/4/2002

90018 "Vrachtverbinding"
was waiting for the call near the diesel depot. 18/4/2002

In the yard itself, dead, was
37669. 18/4/2002

There were more Voyagers than
you could shake a stick at today. This is 220007 leading 220005
heading North. We are witnessing the death of the passenger locomotive
here! 18/4/2002

43196 in the distance is leading
43194 with the 13.43 Holyhead-London. 18/4/2002
6233 "Duchess
of Sutherland" crossing over the West Coast Main
Line as it leaves the Stoke-on-Trent line to gain access to Crewe's
platform 12. The train was a Derby-Blackpool special operated
by PAST
TIME RAIL LIMITED.

On the diesel depot yard, 37797
towed a very dead 37706 onto the headshunt and then into the depot
itself. 797 later rejoined 37110 at the pumps. 13/4/2002
