A RAIL37 Churnet Valley Railway picture report

Froghall Station open and working - if you don't visit the Cafeteria you really will miss out! I cannot commend this structure highly enough - congratulations to all involved. The attention to detail is staggering especially the lighting.

The S160 was on duty today and the more I see it the more it seems to fit - the kids love it.

Preparing to detach. When the driver is ready to pull away there is a blast on the hooter which makes the children jump and appears to be great fun. (Makes me jump as well - great fun!!!).

The driver even wore a "Casey Jones" hat - how's that for authenticity?

Simmering up the valley approaching Cheddleton - atmospheric eh?

The down trains are, of course, non stop through Cheddleton.

Returning from Leekbrook to form the 14.00 to Froghall. If it can be accepted that locomotives operating on the line of late have not exactly been authentic for the BR 60's period can it not also be accepted that boiler first down the valley would not do a great deal of harm? The photo opportunities missed by the tender first policy must be immense
